File a consumer complaint in Minnesota
If a business overcharged you, added fees you didn’t agree to, or made it hard to cancel, you can file a complaint with the state office that handles consumer protection.
Office of the Attorney General – Consumer Protection
Official government website. Links can change; if one doesn’t work, search for “Minnesota attorney general consumer complaint.”
Insurance problems? Minnesota Department of Commerce
Complaints about insurance claims, cancellations, rates or agents go to the state insurance department.
Before you file
- Try to resolve it with the business first, and keep notes of when you contacted them and what they said.
- Gather receipts, statements, screenshots of the offer and terms, emails and any cancellation confirmations.
- Write a short timeline: what you signed up for, what you were charged, and what happened when you tried to fix it.
- Say what you want: a refund, cancellation, or for the charges to stop.
