File a consumer complaint in Wisconsin
If a business overcharged you, added fees you didn’t agree to, or made it hard to cancel, you can file a complaint with the state office that handles consumer protection.
Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP)
Official government website. Links can change; if one doesn’t work, search for “Wisconsin attorney general consumer complaint.”
Insurance problems? Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance
Complaints about insurance claims, cancellations, rates or agents go to the state insurance department.
Before you file
- Try to resolve it with the business first, and keep notes of when you contacted them and what they said.
- Gather receipts, statements, screenshots of the offer and terms, emails and any cancellation confirmations.
- Write a short timeline: what you signed up for, what you were charged, and what happened when you tried to fix it.
- Say what you want: a refund, cancellation, or for the charges to stop.
